Music industry faces pricing probe on downloads

The music industry is being investigated by the United States Securities and Exchange Commission into collusion on the price of online music downloads. Apple Computer Inc.'s iTunes Music Store, Warner Music Group, Sony BMG Music Entertainment and Vivendi Universal S.A.'s Universal Music Group have all been subpoenaed.

Sony BMG completes overhaul by naming operations chief
Article Abstract:
Tim Bowen has been named Chief Operating Officer of Sony BMG of the United States, replacing Michael Smellie. There has been shuffling of top management at the recording industry giant since the formation of its joint venture in 2004. Sony BMG is the world's second largest music company.

Universal slashes price of CDs in U.S
Article Abstract:
Universal Music Group has reduced the suggested retail price of almost all of its U.S. compact discs. The group lowered U.S. prices to $12.98 (11.96 euros). This represents a decline of almost 32%.
