NEG MICON OVERTAGER WIND WORLD

Article Abstract:

Wind World, the eleventh largest producer of wind power generators in the world, has been acquired by NEG Micon, which is the largest producer. Both companies are Danish. The price for the deal has not been published. NEG Micon's interest in Wind World is due to its technology, which makes wind power possible even in areas where the wind is not so strong, and its targetting of the Norwegian and Swedish markets.

Article Abstract:

The German container shipyard Volkswerft, Stralsund, is to be acquired by the Danish shipyard Odense Staalskibsvaerft (Lind vaerftet), which is part of the A P M ller group. The price for the acquisition is DKr 95mn (USD 14mn). The Danish shipyard Odense Staalskibsvaerft has agreed to continue employing 1,170 out of tthe present over 1,400 employees at the shipyard. The order book is full until mid-1999.

DENMARK: SIEMENS TO ACQUIRE BOSCH TELECOM

Article Abstract:

Siemens will acquire Bosch Telecom Denmark, the Jutland-based mobile phone producer, according to a letter-of-intent between the two German companies. The plant's capacity is 4.5mn mobile terminals a year, and there is need for further investments as capacity utilisation is nearly 100%.
