National grid to sell wireless unit

Article Abstract:

Infrastructure firm Arqiva Ltd. will buy the National Grid Group PLC's wireless business, after which National Grid will return 1.8 bil pounds sterling to its stockholders via a buyback program. The move is part of National Grid's plan to focus on gas and electric markets.

Vladimir Putin has approved the overhaul of Russia's electric power industry, in an effort to combat worsening energy problems. Market-driven pricing will be introduced, and private investors will be allowed ownership of power generating companies.
