Safety study for South Atlantic airspace

Article Abstract:

Arinc Inc will study the safety of the South Atlantic airspace, more commonly known as the Europe/South American Corridor. The South Atlantic airspace serves as the major air traffic route for flights between major European and South American cities. The study is being commissioned by AENA, Spain's air-traffic service provider. AENA is working with the South Atlantic Task Force for the implementation of reduced lateral and vertical separation standards for aircraft flying between 29,000 and 41,000 ft.

Nav Canada

Article Abstract:

Nav Canada has awarded a $1.35-million contract to Raytheon Co to provide engineering services in support of the modernization program for the Canadian Automated Air Traffic System. The projects is expected to be completed by the end of 2000. In addition, Raytheon is required by the contract to provide maintenance and support services at the technical support center in Ottawa, Ontario.

Nav Canada

Article Abstract:

Nav Canada has contracted Austria-based Frequentis to supply voice communication and switching equipment for towers and flight service stations across Canada. The contract, awarded in Aug 2000, requires the installation of 80 systems that are based on Frequentis' VCS 3020 product. The agreement also includes options for 30 additional systems and an automatic call distribution system.
