New EU agency to organize patrols
Article Abstract:
The European Commission (EC) will create a Fisheries Control Agency to improve compliance to rules and reform Common Fisheries Policy (CFP). This will ensure effectiveness of rules and tackle monitoring and control hassles. The new agency will have board members from EC and the industry who will appoint a director.

Electronic atlas of North Sea fish
Article Abstract:
European Union has funded an ICES-FishMap, which is an electronic atlas of 15 fish species found in North Sea. The atlas is based on data collected by research ships from 1983 to 2004.
