South Korean KDX destroyer fleet grows
Article Abstract:
British Aerospace Defence Systems Group has received a $76.5 mil contract from Samsung to provide KDCOM 2 combat management systems for South Korea's naval fleet. The systems will be installed by Samsung, the main contractor for the Batch 2 KDX combat system, on the initial three ships of an improved Batch 2 KDX-class guided missile destroyers. The destroyers, which were designed by Hyundai, are expected to enter the South Korean Navy in the second half of 2003.

Danish Air Force to replace HAWK
Article Abstract:
The Royal Danish Air Force has announced a tender for its surface-to-air missile requirement. The unit said that the new missile will be integrated with the newly upgraded Danish Enhanced HAWK ground-based air-defense system. The new missiles would replace the semi-active radar homing MIM023 I-HAWK rounds and their associated MPQ-46 High-Power Illuminator Radars by 2007.
