New structure saves

Article Abstract:

Sellier & Bellot (S&B) (Vlasim, Czech Republic), engineering company, has moved its packaging-machine manufacturing to a new wholly-owned subsidiary. A reason was the different kind of production compared the firm's main programme, ammunition. The firm's fixed costs on ammunition production have decreased due to the separation of the two types of production. The company's ammunition production was extended by 32.6% for the first half of 1999 compared to the first half of 1998. S&B's proceeds amounted to 564 mil Kc for the first half of 1999, nearly 60% of the 1999 plan. The firm saw a profit of 22 mil Kc for the first half of 1999. In 1998 it saw a loss of 313 mil Kc.
