Northern tiger prawns are sustainable again

Australian Fisheries Management Authority has agreed to extend the fishing season of tiger prawn in the country's northern region. The authority advised this based on its confirmation that the population of tiger prawns in the region had come to sustainable levels.

Cutting by-catch waste by half: huge FAO shrimp project begins

A five-year initiative of UN Food & Agriculture Organization on shrimp catches is discussed. The object of the program is to cut by-catch by half. The four methods to be employed for achieving the object are listed.
