German police are under scrutiny in the aftermath of the terrorist attacks and deaths in Bad Kleinen. One terrorist and a policeman were killed and crimes against foreigners continue. Resignations by senior security officials highlight the need for a refocusing of Germany's security system.

Public opposition to the wave of violent crimes against ethnic minorities in Germany by right-wing extremists has been galvanized by the arson-caused death of a ten-year-old Turkish girl. Germany's political and business leaders now speak out against the hatemongers.
