Novartis profit increases 11% on strong sales

First-quarter net profit for Swiss pharmaceutical company Novartis AG rose by 11%, boosted by sales of its cancer and hypertension drugs. Net profits reached $2.17 bil, with sales increasing by 18% to reach $9.82 bil.
