On hold

Article Abstract:

Telecom Italia chief executive, Roberto Colaninno, has failed to carry out a financial restructuring. This would have involved shifting the mobile phone subsidiary of Telcom Italia to Tecnost. This failure has led to a loss of investor confidence in Colaninno, and Telecom Italia needs to restructure to face increased competition. The company needs to shed jobs, dispose of non-core operations, and change its management culture, which is too bureaucratic. There is likely to be some opposition to job losses.
