The process of finding a suitable acquisition opportunity is often an unorganized affair for companies which consider the chance to purchase greater than the benefits from acquisition. Shareholders are usually the driving force behind the need to invest in new companies. Managers need to access all aspects of a possible acquisition deal, from both commercial and financial aspects based on solid information provided by advisers.

From deal to delivery: new research shows that companies are still not realising the expected gains from mergers and acquisitions

Article Abstract:

A report from Intika Consulting shows that only 56.6% of UK companies involved in acquisitions and mergers show improved business performance of the acquired company after the transaction. Among the pre-acquisition success factors identified are the need to have a clear goal of what is to be achieved and an advanced understanding of personnel issues to avoid possible culture conflicts.
