Bristol slams Arts Council over Behnisch scheme veto

Article Abstract:

Supporters of plans to build Stefan Behnisch's Bristol Harbourside Centre are angry that its longstanding lottery application has been turned down. The project was seeking 58 million pounds sterling but the Arts Council felt that the application was flawed and did not meet basic criteria. The current round of awards will be the last under the Arts Council's existing system and it is considering new plans for dealing with capital applications.
