DENMARK: CARLSBERG'S FIRST QUARTER RESULTS

Article Abstract:

Carlsberg, the brewing group, boosts its pre-tax profit to DKr540mn in the first quarter of 2001 vs. DKr154mn in the same period last year. Net profit stood at DKr366mn vs. DKr237mn last year. This growth is chiefly ascribed to the inclusion of the Norwegian brewery Orkla's brewing operations in the group profits as well as to "organic growth" in Eastern Europe and Asia.
