MINI CEMENT PLANTS IN TALKS WITH DALMIA TO PROCURE COKE DUST
Article Abstract:
Mini cement plants are negotiating with Dalmia Cements for coke dust as it has recently imported coke dust from Australia for its seven million tonne per annum Trichy plant. Domestic procurement is becoming difficult because of better blast furnace technology leading to reduced generation of coke dust and an escalation in prices of coke dust. Dalmia has imported 20,000 tonnes, which is more than its requirement needs. However, storing coke dust creates inventory problems. Thus, hard hit mini cement manufacturers are offering Rs1,300 per tonne for an offtake of 5,000 tonnes. (nr)
