Parallel developments

Article Abstract:

The global express freight market is projected to grow annually by 17%, accounting for 36% of the total global air cargo market by 2017. The trend has spurred airlines and air freight forwarders to offer services similar to those being provided by integrated carriers such as DHL, Federal Express and Emery Worldwide. As a result, airports and ocean ports have developed facilities to be able to accomodate all types of cargoes to protect their share of the growing market.

Large or small, take your pick

Air cargo takes wing

Article Abstract:

The market for international air cargo services is on an upward trend globally. Analysts project 6% annual growth for the market through 2002 and double-digit growth by 2005. However, this requires the immediate response to and flexibility with customer demands. Air cargo companies also have to offer better services to compete effectively with integrated carriers such as Federal Express Corp and DHL Airways Inc.
