Parks with architectural attitude

Article Abstract:

Three contemporary parks in the Italian province of Friuli share a common perception of the park as an architectural subject, but differ in concept. Gianugo Polesello's Rizzi Park uses a geometric theme into which vegetation and spaces, defined by concrete structures, are organized. Roberto Pirzio Biroli's nearby Cormor Park has a more reassuring green park feeling with established vegetation conserved and enhanced. Pierluigi Grandinetti's work is a short drive away on the ancient fortress site of Osoppo. This ongoing project seeks to unearth and conserve the fort's history, whilst exposing botanical and scenic aspects.

Architectural ironmongers - industry specialists

Article Abstract:

The term architectural ironmonger is relatively new and can be misleading. Architectural ironmongers deal with building fittings in a range of materials including bronze and nylon. They also do more than stock and sell products. The professional architectural ironmonger can advise on the best products to meet both aesthetic requirements and national standards, and they can specify and co-ordinate the delivery of all ironmongery products. The Guild of Architectural Ironmongers operates a training scheme to ensure that members meet professional standards.
