Pennies from heaven
Article Abstract:
The British minmum wage has been increased by 0.1 pounds sterling to 3.7 pounds. The minimum wage has not led to a rise in inflation or large-scale job losses, and has brought particular benefits to part-time women. There could be problems if the wage were raised much higher. It is also difficult to separate the impact of the minimum wage from economic growth, and it is possible that job creation has been affected by the introduction of the minimum wage.
