People: cosmic energy

Article Abstract:

The holistic approach to architecture employed by Richard Hywel Evans has earned him a reputation for producing spiritually-influenced buildings which reflected the need for light, airy spaces yet offer functionality and practicality. Hywel Evans has completed a call centre for telecommunications firm Cellular Operations, which is based on a zeppelin shape made almost entirely from glass. His design is quite unusually and he hopes people will consider his work worthy of remembrance in years to come.

A tale of two cities

Article Abstract:

Architects Matthias Sauerbruch and Louisa Hutton divide their working lives between London and Berlin, and both say they need the cultural extremes offered by the cities. They appreciate London's intellectual climate, although most of their work is carried out in Berlin, where they are known for their large public and commercial projects, including the headquarters for social housing group GSW, which will be completed in 1999. In London, most of their work is for domestic housing.
