Planting by computer
Article Abstract:
Landscape architects are increasingly using computer modelling in their work. Computer-aided design (CAD) packages range from simple software aimed at home owners, to expensive packages for professionals, which incorporate planting and costing data, as well as hard and soft landscape design. UK television station Channel 5 will broadcast a gardening programme in 1997, which will highlight the use of CAD, and CAD is an important part of London's Natural History Museum garden project. Key Systems is a major producer, with packages including KeyScape, which is based on AutoCAD 13.
