Please panic early: it may not be the end of the world as we know it, but the year-2000 computer bug is already a very expensive nuisance

Article Abstract:

When computer programs that include dates were created, no thought was given to the new century. Estimates range between $52-$400 billion for companies to obtain programs that convert the date to 2000. The issue of conversion is a larger issue than it need be, as companies are trying to resolve it now.
