Psion lifts profit just 4.4% but raises Symbian hopes

Article Abstract:

Psion PLC posted a disappointing 4.4% increase in profits for the 1998 year. However, the company remained optimistic about the Symbian mobile communications joint venture. Psion, a manufacturer of palmtop computers, said that it would consider a separate listing for Symbian in two or three years. Psion posted 11.9 million pound sterling ($19.2 million) in pretax profits, compared to 11.4 million pound sterling in 1997.
