Publicis wins Hewlett-Packard advertising duties

Article Abstract:

Publicis SA (PSA) has received a global advertising contract from Hewlett-Packard (HP), previously held by Saatchi & Saatchi (S&S). The account was valued by S&S at more than $200 million. HP has not commented upon the change.Publicis SA could have won the account based upon the company's on-going efforts to expand. PSA has been purchasing advertisement agencies, and is currently looking to acquire companies in the eastern U.S. and Asia. S&S will retain the advertising account in the U.S. for HP's printers.

Pernod Ricard, Coca-Cola agree new Orangina pact

Article Abstract:

Coca-Cola Co. has signed an agreement with Pernod Ricard SA to acquire its Orangina soft drink brand. Coca-Cola will purchase Orangina for 4.7 billion francs ($757.6 million). The US soft drink bottler also agreed to surrender its on-premise Orangina distribution rights for 10 years in order to satisfy antitrust concerns in France. The distribution of Orangina entailed restaurants, cafes, movie theatres, stadiums, and hotels.
