Article Abstract:

Academic authors are starting to experiment with electronic methods of publishing to avoid the hegemony enjoyed by publishers. One method is the use of 'e-prints' by authors to send out pre-prints of unpublished articles. Some non-profit academic groups are starting to publish online journals.
