Special Landscape Areas: landscape conservation or confusion in the town and country planning system?
Article Abstract:
The efficacy and relevance of the special landscape area within the British planning system is examined. The results highlight an emerging discourse between planners seeking protect landscape using Special Landscape Areas (SLAs), which concluded that the emphasis on designation as prime tool for landscape planning is outdated.
