Marketers of pricey menswear brands in Europe traditionally use glossy magazines and business periodicals to reach their target audience. Buyers of brands such as Giorgio Armani and Dolce e Gabbana are typically ambitious or successful men who want their clothing to reflect their aspirations and achievements. Some marketers also advertise in women's periodicals to reach women who buy gifts for the men in their lives.

Spanish newspapers are offering supplement sections almost every day in an effort to hold on to their readers. Some supplements tend to focus on the latest trends such as computers and the Internet, while others play on the regional sentiments of Spaniards by focusing on regional news and events. Newspaper readership is not as high as publishers wanted as Spaniards prefer to get their news from TV and radio.
