Renault registrations drop 9.6% as France's auto market shrinks

New-car registrations for French automaker Regie Nationale des Usines Renault decreased by 9.6% to 172,395 vehicles as France's overall market shrunk by 2.8%. However, registrations are expected to rise when Renault launches the new Twingo minicar next month.

Renault profit falls 15%, Mazda posts 46% rise

Renault S.A. is reporting a full-year net profit of $ $3.73 billion, a decline of 15% over last year. Meanwhile, Mazda Motor Corp.'s profits have increased 46%, to $123.5 million. Renault hopes to improve profits with the launch of new models in 2007.
