Ford will fold Land Rover into luxury unit

Ford sees profit in Europe in 2000

Ford Motor Co. posted an increase of 5.1% in its net income for the 2000 first-quarter. The company posted $2.08 billion (2.17 billion euros) in quarterly earnings. Ford is also expecting to post profits for the 2000 year in Europe.

Renault's first-half profits fall, while PSA's earnings shine

PSA Peugeot-Cotroen S.A. and Renault S.A. announced first-half earnings Thursday. PSA's net profit increased 36%, while Renault's earnings fell. PSA's operating profit and sales also increased more than 20%.
