Three Middle Eastern groups will cellphone licenses for Iraq

Orascom Telecommunications, Kuwaiti-based MTC, and National Mobile Telecommunications have been granted cellular telephone service licenses in Iraq. The contracts cover a two-year period.

Difficulties at Olivetti-Telecom Italia Group have caused its hare price to decrease 42% since the Olivetti acquisition of Telecom Italia in May 1999. The share price has decreased from 3.20 pounds sterling in May 1999 to 1.79 pounds sterling in Nov 1999.
