Unisem's IPO may restore lost magic

Article Abstract:

Unisem (Malaysia) will conduct an initial public offering (IPO) of 38 million shares in July 1998. The IPO's listing price will offer inexpensive exposure to the semiconductor industry of Malaysia since the listing price will be 10 times less that the predicted prospective earnings per share. Unisem possesses all the characteristics that are sought out by investors although the timing of its IPO coincides with the falling Malaysian stock market and the declining international sales of semiconductors. The IPO that will be conducted by Unisem will the first of the year for the Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange.
