Home-made: Russian jazz
Article Abstract:
Some Russian musicians have created their own jazz music based on Russian folk music. American-style jazz is popular, but the native version is more dynamic. Biosynthesis bases it's jazz on Siberian throat singing; Sergei and Marfa Rostorguev use the music of the Saha people.

Farm reform will prove to be a high priority for Russian president Boris Yeltsin should he prevail in the July 3, 1996, presidential election. The 1995 grain harvest was one of the worst in Russian history and it is not expected to improve much in 1996.
