SAP's rising in New York
Article Abstract:
SAP, the largest software concern in Europe, is to list on the New York Stock Exchange on Aug 3, 1998. The listing will not be used to raise new funds, but reflects the fact that the company now derives around 35% of its sales from the US, where more than a fifth of its investors are also located. The company now holds around 28% of the $15 billion market for enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems. ERP technology is regarded as having significant growth potential, and this will make it unnecessary for SAP to give more attention to boosting its income from services at present.
