SES to take 5% stake in Italian strat-up;Netsystem.com will offer Internet access via satellite

Article Abstract:

Societe Europeene des Satellites,which transmits radio and television channels by satellite, plans to acquire a 5% stake in the recently formed Netssystem.com of Italy for 50 billion lire (25.8 million euros). Netsystem.com will use satellite receivers to beam Web pages into personal computers.

"Electrosmog' splits Italian officials

This article discusses the debate among Italian government officials and scientists over so-called "electrons" or the danger of cancer being caused by powerlines and radio antennas. Health Minister Umberto Veronesi opposes a law passed by the Italian parliament which would require burying a large part of Italy's power transmission lines at a cost of tens of billions of euros.
