SH-60R review
Article Abstract:
A proposed remanufacturing program for Sikorsky SH-60R Seahawk is being reevaluated by the US Navy, following concerns that unforeseen costs and production delays could seriously impact on the apparent advantages of the program. The plan would have rebuilt up to 243 Sikorky SH-60B, SH-60F and HH-60H helicopters to a common configuration, with a new forward fuselage, sensor equipment and glass cockpit. Options to reduce the weight are already being investigated as well as the cost of installing new engines and transmission.
