Second-quarter net profit for South Korea's Samsung Electronics Company Ltd. rose to reach $1.55 bil. and positioned the firm at the number two spot in worldwide cell phone sales, with Finnish firm Nokia Corp. selling the most for the quarter. However, administrative and marketing expenses for Samsung rose by 8% to reach nearly $1 bil, causing a 5% drop in net income.
