Daimler sells China bus stake, clearing roadblock to venture

German automobile maker DaimlerChrysler AG sold its 50% stake in China-based bus manufacturer Yaxing Benz Ltd., making Jiangsu Yaxing Motor and Coach Group the firm's only shareholder. The sale has also enabled Daimler to proceed with a truck manufacturing joint venture with Beiqi Foton Motor Co.

Volvo, Scania post gains in profit

Fourth-quarter results for Swedish truck manufacturers Scania AB and Volvo AB showed gains. Scania's earnings rose 48%, with net profit reaching 2.71 bil kronor, while Volvo's net profit rose 9.8% to reach 4.06 bil kronor.
