Eureka! Invention-patent firm BTG discovers success one idea at a time
Article Abstract:
BTG PLC, a British invention-patent company that profits from royalty payments on licensing deals, looks to earn from a potential licensing deal involving a new insecticide product that will be developed from a plant of the Chilean Calceolaria variety. The new insecticide product, which is not harmful to the environment, is being developed by the Royal Botanic Gardens' leading plant biologist, Monique Simmons. BTG, which owns the 8,500 patents for close to 300 technologies, looks to license the new insecticide to a major corporate user and divide the proceeds of the licensing deal with the inventor.
