Seagull Pewter of Pugwash, Nova Scotia, the biggest giftware firm in Canada, is hoping that its new professional team of managers and marketing executives will be able to lead the comapny into renewed profitability. The company, founded by John Caraberis and Bonni Bond in 1978, was able to emerge into a dominant position in the industry. However, stagnant sales in the past few years have convinced Bond and Caraberis that new leadership and marketing strategy is needed at Seagull Pewter.

Krave's Candy Co distributes 300-gram boxes of white chocolate, cashew and graham-cracker-bit Clodhopper at under C$6 per box. It has a nationwide distribution network including Wal-Mart, Overwaitea, Shopper Drug Marts, Eaton's, The Bay, Safeway's Western Canada stores and an assortment of independent grocers. The company posted a gross revenue of C$650,000 in 1998, up by 1000% since the company's birth.
