Article Abstract:

NASA has awarded a contract to Rannoch Corp for the development of a broadcast datalink that will provide situational awareness and traffic information throughout airport terminal areas. The system is geared towards preventing mid-air collisions, and will use aircraft tracking data from multilateration and ADS-B systems. The data will then be disseminated throughout the terminal area, providing pilots with a Cockpit Display of Traffic Information.
