Skoda Auto is appraised by WBR

Skoda Auto (SA) (Mlada Boleslav, Czech Republic), automotive company, increased its sales by 13% to 435,403 cars in 2000 compared to 1999. According to preliminary results, SA saw a turnover of about CEK 130 bil in 2000. According to the international research institution Worldwide Business Research (WBR) (London, UK), SA is the best firm of the automotive industry in central and eastern Europe. WBR evaluated the successes of the firm in the past few years, mainly the enlargement of SA's model line, the growth of sales and the quality of cars.

Skoda Auto (SA) (Mlada Boleslav, Czech Republic), automotive company, produced 0.5 mil Octavia cars from the autumn of 1996 till Apr 2001. A total of 349,825 pieces of the quantity were represented by limousines and 150,175 pieces by estate models. The company increased its total sale volume by 13% to 435,403 cars of the model series Felicia, Fabia and Octavia in 2000 compared to 1999. About 82% of the sales were represented by exports to 70 countries. A total of 158,503 Octavia cars were sold in 2000.

Skoda Auto ensures 9.9% of total Czech exports

Skoda Auto (Mlada Boleslav, Czech Republic), automotive company, saw a profit of CEK 3.3 bil in 2000, 27% more compared to 1999. The firm ensures 9.9% of total Czech exports. It produces 460,000 cars per year, 1,810 cars per day. It invested CEK 2.337 mil in its development in 2000, CEK 400 mil less compared to 1999. SA has 1,187 suppliers. Only 303 of them, over 25%, are represented by firms from the Czech Republic and 884 are foreign.
