Smiths expands HUMS empire

Article Abstract:

Smiths Industries has acquired US-based Strategic Technology Systems Inc (STSI) in a $14.5-million deal that would further expand its Health and Usage Monitoring Systems (HUMS) capability. STSI produces HUMS for helicopters and on-board management parts for military aircraft, and is the partner of Stewart Hughes for the British WAH-64D Apache Longbow project. Earlier, Smiths Industries bought Stewart Hughes for $8 million.

DENMARK: MOTOROLA ACQUIRES DIGIANSWER

Article Abstract:

The Danish company Digianswer, which is a specialist in wireless networks, has been acquired by the American group Motorola. The price of the deal has not been published. Director Ole Jensen of Digianswer says the company will benefit not least from Motorola's sales network. Until now, 67% of Digianswer has been owned by the Danish company Olicom, which has been hit by a crisis.
