Space odyssey
Article Abstract:
The Ulysses probe sent to the sun has yielded valuable results in terms of understanding the polar characteristics of the sun. The probe was sent on an orbit directly perpendicular to the plane of orbits taken by most planets and the sun's equator so as to observe the sun's poles. The results show that the sun's heliosphere is characterized by heavy turbulence and has packets of space dust.

Article Abstract:
The Taiwanese government declared February 28, 1997, a national holiday in commemoration of the estimated 28,000 people who were killed in the 1947 massacre by Chiang Kai-shek's followers. The move to make it a holiday is an example of the growing nationalism present in Taiwan.
