Suntech shines on solar demand

Article Abstract:

Suntech Power Holdings Ltd. of China posted 40 percent increases on it's initial public offering on the New York Stock Exchange. The solar panel maker's share price is being fueled by investor enthusiasm for alternative energy. The solar power industry is expected to grow to $18.5 billion by 2010 from $6.5 billion as of last year.

The European stock market is a haven even with soaring oil prices and the economic damage caused by Hurricane Katrina. The stock market is forecast to grow, especially if the European economy flourishes. Good investment bets are the oil sector and retail.
