London Drugs takes brand skyward
Article Abstract:
London Air Services (LAS), a wholly-owned subsidiary of London Drugs, has purchased a Bombardier Challenger 604 wide-body corporate jet. LAS will use the jet for charter flights out of Vancouver International Airport. Wynne Powell, COO of London Drugs, said the company is taking a big gamble but is very much serious in making it in the charter aircraft business. LAS started from a side business that Long Drugs started when it bought a Learjet and leased unused plane time to companies.

Air drugstore; what's a pharmacy chain doing running a charter airline? London Drugs is out to provide senior business execs with the same relentless customer focus it offers as a retailer
Article Abstract:
Business travelers learn that commercial flying can be a big waste of time; that is why London Drugs started a small charter air service, London Air Services. When their own executives aren't using the plane, it's available for charter. It operates in British Columbia and Alberta, soon in Saskatchewan. Two more business jets are on order.
