Swiss Re and Berkshire team up: pact on 3% stake gives Warren Buffett access to the insurer's core

Berkshire Hathaway Inc. will acquire a 3% stake in Swiss Reinsurance Co., along with taking over 20% of the company's property and casualty insurance business. Although financial details were not disclosed, a 3% stake is estimated at approximately 860 mil francs. Swiss Re shares increased 3.7% to 76.35 francs after the news.
