Tata Tea Ltd has posted an all-time high 74 percent rise in net profit to Rs102.16 crore for 1997-98. It has posted a 26 percent rise in sales to Rs879 crore. Its export income was Rs269 crore. The company has declared a dividend of Rs10.1 per share (Rs6.5 per share in 1996-97). The company produced 62.4 million kilograms of tea in 1997-98 compared to 59.7 million kilograms produced in 1996-97.
