SOME REFLECTIONS ON COIR AND COCONUT
Article Abstract:
The production of coir, a natural fibre derived from coconut, in India is less than 200,000 tonnes. The value of Indian coir exports is around Rs220 crore per annum. Over the years, the production of coir has been stagnating or falling due to demand constraints and the low price potential. Even the exports are low to make an impact. (ag)
