TURKEY: CARLSBERG TO CONSOLIDATE ITS POSITION IN TURKEY
Article Abstract:
Carlsberg, the brewing company, aims to consolidate its position in Turkey and according to Carlsberg information manager Margrethe Skov the aims is to strengthen Carlsberg's strategy for branded goods. The Turkish newspaper Radikal wrote last week that Carlsberg is expected to buy half of Yasar Group's almost 60% stake in Turk Tuborg. Carlsberg currently owns 2% of the shares in Turk Tuborg. Carlsberg's new strategy also aims to gain more control of the breweries that produce, bottle and sell Carlsberg Group's beer abroad.

CHINA: CARLSBERG SIGNS JOINT VENTURE DEAL
Article Abstract:
A joint venture deal has been signed between Carlsberg and the Chinese brewery China Tsingtao regarding Carlsberg Brewery (Shanghai) Limited. It is Carlsberg's 51%-owned subsidiary in Hong Kong that will take over the remaining 25% of the brewery in Shanghai. The new brewery is to improve capacity exploitation and to generate considerable savings. Carlsberg's Hong Kong company will continue to produce beer to the Chinese market from its brewery in Guangdong.

POLAND:CARLSBERG GETS THE SECURITIES COUNCIL'S OK
Article Abstract:
The Polish Securities Council has awarded Carlsberg Breweries a license to boost its ownership stake in Polish Okocimskie Zaklady Piwowarskie to more than 50%. Carlsberg information manager Margrethe Skov is not sure whether they will make use of this license.
