Architects will greatly benefit from the development of voiceware internet technology designed to allows users to directly ask questions of a browser which then locates the necessary information without the need to search through reams of internet files. Software firm Nuance has developed the Voyager browser to act on requests from voice users, produce fast and efficient results, ideal for the world of architectural design.

Pomo's place at the end of the century

Article Abstract:

Architecture has become characterised by a range of styles, such as post-modernism, high-tech and modern, as the 20th century draws to a close. Architects should place much less emphasis on style, preparing for a future in which style is no more than a menu option. It is now time to acknowledge the importance of people developing personal architectural resources as they become free from architect-designed style.

A new school of thought

Article Abstract:

In modern architecture schools, most students have a passing knowledge of computer design, and some have developed advanced skills. A consequence of this trend is that architecture and design became a focus at the Glasgow School of Art's international forum on digital creativity in the arts, Computers in Art and Design (CADE) 2001.
