The fashion for technology stcks has spread from the US to other countries, and stocks from companies in other sectors have tended to perform far less well. Investors are gambling when they select high-tech stocks, and fear governs investment decisions, in addition to optimism. This includes fear that investors could miss price rises if they do not invest. There are analysts who see technology stocks as a safe investment at a time when interest rates are rising, but this may not prove to be the case, and the bubble may burst.
